Everything You Need When Your Baby Starts Solids
I was so excited to start Reign on solids, we decided to do Baby Led Weaning instead of purees which I will talk about on here later but he loves food, he is so adventurous and messy! Technically, you don’t need anything but proper foods considered safe for a baby but below are six things I recommend you have when it’s time to start your baby on solid food.
A Comfortable Highchair
You definitely don’t need an expensive one but you do what it to be comfortable for your baby, and durable if you plan on having more babies and saving it. Amazon has some great ones!
Silicone Bibs
Babies are going to make a lot of mess, I love the silicone bibs that catch the food and are easy to clean (and don’t stain!) we use these ones.
Baby Bowls
I don’t always use bowls, he likes to pick up his food from his highchair tray but for certain things I use these suction bowls, harder for him to pick up and throw on the floor.
Baby Spoons
There are so many different types of spoons out there but I avoid the ones with the metal handles because I am afraid my baby will poke his eye or his gums because he moves his arms and hands all the time. These silicone ones are our favorites!
Silicone/Straw Cups
I have a love/hate relationship with sippy cups… matter of fact I just don’t like them. I prefer small silicone cups, and my baby does so well with this one, it is so easy for him to hold. He loves this straw cup for when we are out and about, he is able to grasp the handles and suck out of the straw.
Starting your baby on solids should be fun for baby and you, hopefully these items help make this experience an enjoyable and a less messy one.
