How I Am Embracing My Body After Birth + FemmeLuxe Collab
One week after giving birth to my son I placed an order with Femme Luxe, I ordered this tie front crop top (that also comes in white!) and this cropped loungewear set. Why? Because I am proud of my body, I am embracing my body and I have a newfound love, appreciation and respect for my body!
Although I do believe I “bounced back” to almost where I was pre-pregnancy and at 4 weeks postpartum, my weight is roughly back to where it was pre-pregnancy but my figure is still a bit foreign to me and a little different. But I am at peace with that. I’m just so in awe of the fact that I was able to make a person.
It’s a process that every mama goes through—and it’s totally natural to have different feelings about our bodies at different times. What matters is also recognizing how amazing it is. After all, look at these little people we helped create, nourish and raise!
I believe the key to embracing your post-partum body is to remember why those changes happened and what you gained in the process.
Motherhood has caused me to rethink what I want to get out of exercise, if I want to exercise I will walk or jog with my baby in the stroller or workout at home with a friend so I can maximize my time with loved ones. I don’t want to miss out on my baby because society pressures us to hit the gym right after birth to “#BeatTheMomBod“. Being in a gym when I have a family at home is not and never will be for me.
I also prioritize time for myself, either by some alone-time in the car or a nightly relaxing bubble bath. Taking moments like those allows me to recharge and give my all when I am with my son.
These Femme Luxe pieces really made me feel confident in my new skin, I love the tie front on the crop top and the organza mesh sleeves add a unique detail to it, it can be dressed up or down and the loungewear sets are always so comfortable and stylish. I love the fleece lining and cuff bottom on the joggers and the ribbed line detail on the sweater and as I have mentioned previously the quality is amazing and they are affordable.
