For Purpose Kids Book Club

I recently came across this book club subscription box for kids and it is unlike the other – their boxes inspire children aged 5 to 10 to learn about being kind and doing good for people, communities, animals & the environment through activities, books and events. The boxes engage young kids in meaningful conversations using multicultural characters and stories. There’s no better way to foster kindness and compassion in the world than through education and storytelling focused on compassion, rather than noticeable differences.

After watching a video on Facebook of a six-year-old boy named Dane, who used his artistic skills to “do good” for others in his community, For Purpse Kids founder, Misty Castañeda, started imagining how different the world might look if we, as parents, consciously raised kids to be more like him. After recognizing a noticeable gap in the marketplace for resources that teach social good in younger children, she decided to tackle the problem head on, creating the interactive learning program we now know as For Purpose Kids. Learn more.

For Purpose Kids has many different offerings including a bi-monthly, 6 month and 12 month subscription – each book club box will include:

• A thoughtfully selected children’s book to build empathy, about a specific topic (examples include diversity & inclusion, anti-racism, gender equality, access to education, LGBTQ+ communities, climate change)
• Conversation starters to connect you and your family to the featured book.
• Highlight of a real-life “For Purpose Kid” doing amazing things in the world.
• Age appropriate, fun DIY activity suggestions, created by For Purpose Kids.

For Purpose Kids also offer a la carte items including a “color me kind” package (shown above) and many different types of toolkits such as helping animals, protecting out environment, do good and helping people and communities.

I absolutely love all of the offerings and the story behind For Purpose Kids. I believe that kids are our future and the younger we start raising global kid-izens the better the world and their future will be.
