Creating Your Wedding Brand
As a type A, creating a cohesive and meaningful look for our wedding day is one of our top priorities (after, you know, actually getting married). Before we decided to design, purchase or rent anything for our wedding, we established our wedding “brand”. Not only does it help us to stay on course but it’s also helpful for our vendors to see our vision for our day.
WHEN AND WHERE?
Before deciding on anything else, you have to figure out when and where you’ll be getting married, this one was easy for us as we have had many discussions previously about this. This is important because it will determine vendor’s availability and seasonal themes, and it will have a direct impact on your overall aesthetic.
COLORS
We really thought that this would be really overwhelming because of the endless possibilities. But we picked one or two colors that we absolutely love and then accented those colors which made it pretty easy!
DEFINE YOUR AESTHETIC
Whimsical, Modern, Nautical, Rustic? We picked a few words that pinpointed what we envisioned and went with that as our vibe.
BUILDING VISUALS
Once we had our words chosen we thought about what shapes and patterns fit those words. We are starting to design our invitation suite so it is important to keep everything cohesive, especially since the paper goods let your guests know what type of event it will be.
DESIGNING WITH PURPOSE
When we are designing our wedding brand we wanted to make sure that every detail has a purpose. We wanted to keep things simple so we don’t overwhelm our guests and we didn’t want the paper goods to be too wordy so we are only including relevant information.
For our save the dates we are including the essentials, names, wedding date, location, our wedding website link and a note stating that the formal invitation will follow.
