First Trimester Update
Now the cat is finally out of the bag I can share the horror stories of my first trimester with you all! LOL actually, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I had imagined it! I got incredibly lucky!
Finding Out
We actually found out on Mother’s Day! I was about a week late and while this is normal for me, I felt no symptoms but Greg had been saying for a week or so that he thought I was pregnant so we decided to go ahead and do a test. SURPRISE! It was positive. I took the test alone, because we genuinely didn’t expect a positive result at all and we had our kiddo with us that weekend so when the word ‘PREGNANT’ showed up, I let out a huge OH MY GOSH! I was shaking! I called Greg into the bathroom and gave him the test (and recorded his reaction, which you can see here on my Instagram) and he was SO EXCITED! He picked me up and danced around the bathroom with me. He was more emotional than me to be honest and had tears in his eyes (sorry babe, it was cute!)
Nausea
I did have a little bit of nausea around 6 weeks for a couple of days but it didn’t last all day, it came in waves and was never consistent. After a couple of days, I had no nausea at all and it stayed that way all the way up until now…
Exhaustion
The exhaustion was also unlike anything I’d ever experienced – and I am one sleepy girl anyway! Growing a human is HARD WORK!
I listened to my body and just let myself be tired, I would get home from work, eat dinner and just go to bed early. I knew that I should be sleeping as much as a I can while I can 😉
Out of Breath
I was out of breath for a few weeks. It was so bad I couldn’t even read story books to our kiddo, daddy had to take over for a while!
Logistics
This is my first pregnancy so there was a lot of questions in my head and I had no idea what to do next! I immediately downloaded pregnancy apps and researched doctors (and found the perfect one!) I was so scared that Greg wouldn’t be allowed to come to the appointment with me because of this COVID-19 mess but thankfully he was, he just had to wait in the car first as he was not allowed in the waiting room with me.
Overall we are so excited to start this journey together and we cannot believe how quickly this little soul found us.
