Drive-Thru Safari Experience at Wild Florida
Wild Florida opened it’s very own drive-thru safari last December and we got to experience it first hand!
The Drive-Thru Safari took us on a self-guided, two-mile drive through a natural habitat filled with more than 100 free roaming animals.
We saw white-tailed deer, a camel, bison, cracker cows, giraffes, eland antelope, zebras, watusi and more!
When you enter the safari you get a checklist of all of the animals that are on the habitat so you can check off the animals you saw as well as read educational information about the animals. This was a huge hit with the kids, they LOVED spotting them and checking off each animal.
After the safari, we went to the giraffe feeding platform where we fed Leroy lettuce, an experience of a lifetime!
The safari admission includes the Wild Florida park where we got to see Crusher, the alligator that weighs over 1,000 pounds and is over 65 years old and Nala, who is a one year old beautiful Florida Panther.
Wild Florida have over 200 exotic animals in their care including the rare and very cool Albino alligators – Snowflake and Blizzard, some foxes, zonkeys, parrots, lots of snakes and alligators, sloths, lemurs & porcupines.
We even got to hold Fluffy the alligator!
We had so much fun learning about all of the different types of animals and how they are taken care of at Wild Florida.
The experience was one of a kind and we will be returning soon to check back on our new found animal friends!
