What To Include On Your Save The Dates

We are officially in the trenches of wedding planning! We have a wedding date, a booked wedding venue, a wedding website and our save the dates! Yay!

We are getting ready to mail out our save the date cards to our international guests so I wanted to share a few things to remember to put on your save the dates before mailing them out to your guests.

What to include on your save the dates

Your Wedding Website

If you have created a wedding website make sure you add the link (small print) at the bottom of your save the date. This will send guests to your website and you won’t receive so many texts and calls with the same questions from your guests!

The Venue Location

We are not getting married in our city and most of my guests/family will be coming from overseas so we put the city and state on our save the date cards.

The Date

Obviously… make sure its big and bold!

Fun fact – we didn’t use the standard number date format (MM/DD/YYYY) because of the date order in England where many of my family will be coming is opposite (DD/MM/YYYY) and we didn’t want to cause confusion so we wrote out the full month, day and year. I am so glad that I realized this before printing 100 save the date cards!

Some Personality!

Add a cute design that matches your wedding theme or use one of those gorgeous engagement shoot photos to add a personal touch.

Invitation to follow

Let your guests know that a formal invitation will follow.
