The Pines Resort- Best Chalet’s in Bass Lake, CA

I would like to thank The Pines Resort for partnering with me for this incredible family trip. Although this was a sponsored trip, all thoughts and opinions of this resort property are my own.

The Pines Resort at Bass Lake is conveniently located approximately 35 minutes from the south entrance to the Yosemite National park. It’s family-friendly and the perfect place to stay and play all year long.

We just got home from a family trip this month and it was amazing! My only wish is that I get to visit again in the summertime! Boating, swimming in the lake and playing on the private beach just sound like good ideas.

The number of on-site activities is never-ending and of course, the biggest perk for us is the proximity to Yosemite and many other attractions like Yosemite Valley Sugar Pine Railroad, Jones Store on Beasore road, and amazing hiking trails like Way of the Mono Trail, Angle Falls at Willow Creek and so many more!

In this post, I will share everything you want to know about what The Pines Resort has to offer, what to bring with you, and what to do at the resort. As always, if I don’t answer your questions here, please leave send me any questions you have about this resort in the comments, through email, or send me a DM on Instagram.

Arriving at The Pines Resort

When you first arrive at the Pines Resort you literally drive down into a small picturesque lake village. There are small shops, restaurants, a grocery store, a small post office, and a quaint church. It is such a cute village!

Once you check in at the lobby, you will then get instructions (and a map of the property) on where to go next. For us, we stayed in one of the lake view chalets they have on the property.

Cozy Chalets

Our chalet had 2 queen beds, a pull-out couch, a full kitchen, a loft, and a bathroom we felt like we had more than enough space in the chalet. There are also cabin rentals and lakeside suites available. For more information on the accommodation layouts at The Pines Resort click here.

What to Bring with you to The Pines Resort – Bass Lake

If you are planning on staying in one of the chalets on the property, here is a basic list of things you should plan on bringing along with you beyond the basics of clothes and toiletries.

The kitchen within the chalet is fully equipped with anything you would need to make a meal for your family. There is a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove, and oven, but NO dishwasher. A new dish sponge, small dish soap, garbage bags, and even a roll of paper towels were provided in the chalet as well. Although you can shop at the small marketplace, I would recommend shopping ahead of time and bringing your food up in coolers. The prices were premium in the market.

  • Groceries for your length of stay at the property if you plan on eating in. There are two on-site restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So honestly, it depends on your family and if you want to cook or not.
  • Swimming gear for the kids (regardless of the season there is a hot tub open year-round).
  • Hiking essentials

Favorite Things to Do at The Pines Resort – Bass Lake

There are SO many things to do right at The Pines Resort that you essentially do not need to even leave. Here is a snapshot of all that is offered right at the resort and surrounding Bass Lake.

  • outdoor swimming pool (not heated)
  • hot tub
  • an ongoing calendar of events at The Pines Resort
  • boat rentals for fishing and recreation
  • 2 on-site restaurants
  • kids playground
  • fire pits overlooking the lake for s’mores and relaxation
    And so much more!

Ducey’s on the lake

Ducey’s on the Lake offers upscale lakeside dining and scratch-made California cuisine. Executive Chef, Johnathan Frabotta, cooks with a farm-to-table approach using locally grown and organic produce and beef from Harris Ranch. The menu offers steaks, seafood, pasta, seasonal dishes, and house-made soups.

The food was incredible, the views were beautiful and the service was amazing. If you stay at the Pines, be sure to eat here at least once – you will not be disappointed!

We all truly had such an amazing time staying at The Pines Resort in Bass Lake, and it is definitely a MUST STAY when traveling to Yosemite with your family. We can’t wait to return, hopefully during the summer months.
