Newborn Essentials I’m Actually Using

Now that our sweet baby Reign is 7 weeks old, I thought I’d share a post on the newborn essentials that we are actually using. The newborn phase is tough, so anything that makes life a little easier is a win in my book! Baby registries can be incredibly overwhelming (especially for first time mama’s like myself) and I had no idea what we would actually need and we wanted to keep it minimal for the first couple of months.

4moms Mamaroo: We really didn’t think our babe would like this but he does. He loves to take naps in it now he has outgrown his lounger.

Newborn Lounger: Our boy spent most of his first weeks in his lounger, he loved it! It was perfect for nap time. He has outgrown this now, only because he loves to be awake and sat up a little more.

Aqua Scale 3 in 1 Bathtub: I wrote a whole post about this tub here. And now we have used it many times we LOVE it. We love the temperature feature.

Swaddle Blankets: Our boy is a swaddle baby. He loves it. I think having light weight swaddles is a must. Then if it is a colder day you can put a heavier blanket over top and if it is warm you can leave them in the light weight swaddle.

oogiebear Nose & Ear Cleaning Tool: Genius! This is such an easy tool to use and it is gentle for baby.

Bright Starts 4-in-1 Rounds of Fun Activity Gym & Ball Pit: He loves his play gym and we also use it for his tummy time mat. He loves the bright colors and it’s easy for his brother to play with him in also.

Safety 1st Easy Saver Diaper Pail: This WORKS! Keeps the smell inside the pail and reduces our trash bag usage.

Musical Toys & Rattles: Reign LOVES to play already so we found him a Fisher Price musical rattle and some rattles that go around his wrists and ankles and he loves them! It keeps him entertained for a while.

Bright Starts Sesame Street I Spot Elmo! Vibrating Bouncer: This bouncer is so bright and allows our babe to sit along side us while we eat dinner or while we are playing on the floor with big bro!

Pampers Swaddlers: There are many brands of diapers out there, but we absolutely love the pampers swaddlers. They’re the diapers the hospital gave us, and are super soft/comfortable. They’re definitely more money, but worth the splurge.

Mittens: Our babe is a scratcher so these came in handy for the first few weeks to prevent him scratching his face.
