Family Guide to ICON Park Orlando

I received a complimentary PlayPass in order to share this review with you. All opinions are my own.

A complete family guide with everything you need to know about visiting ICON Park. There is truly so much to do in Orlando and in ICON Park itself so I thought it would be helpful to provide a travel guide to share a few tips to help you plan your trip.

What is ICON Park Orlando?

ICON Park is an entertainment destination featuring fun and games for the whole family. You can spend your day exploring over 50+ amazing restaurants, funky bars, boutique shops, and amusement park rides.

Where is ICON Park Orlando?

ICON Park is located in the heart of International Drive (I-drive) and is close to all major Orlando theme parks and is just a short walk from Wyndham International Drive.

How much time do I need at ICON Park?

We spent about 5 hours at ICON Park but you could easily spend more. We spent our entire day participating in the attractions and didn’t do any shopping so you could really spend a whole day here.

Attractions at ICON Park Orlando

SEALIFE Aquarium

My husband and I had our very first date here many years ago but we hadn’t been back since. It was so amazing to go back to this spot with our son in tow. We all had such a blast! I loved that so many of the tanks had an opportunity for him to go “inside” them for a closer look and they had a lot of interactive, hands-on activities too.

Museum of Illusions

Such a cool and interesting place! We had a ton of fun and laughed a lot at the interactive illusions. I loved that there are employees walking around to take photos and showing you the best way to take a photo to capture the full illusion.

I am not going to give anything away on how they pull the illusions off but it is well worth the visit and it’s a great value being included in the Play Pass.

Madame Tussauds

I have visited Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas, New York, and London and it just never gets old! It is so fun to see your favorite actors, actresses, characters, and famous people n wax form.

Madame Tussauds is laid out so well in themed areas with a lot of interesting information about each one and it is so fun to take photos and pose with each one. We especially loved the Marvel characters and seeing Walt Disney.

The Observation Wheel

ICON Park is mostly known for the Wheel, a 400ft observation wheel that gives amazing views of Orlando. On a clear day, you can even see Disney World!

The Wheel is 400 feet tall and made from 3,000,000 pounds of steel. It is the tallest wheel on the east coast of the United States and is the highest moving sky bar on the east coast too

You ride in a capsule that moves less than 1 1mph and it takes about 25 minutes to go all the way around.

Pearl Express Train

This is now my toddler’s favorite attraction. It’s a “Choo Choo” train that rides around the perimeter of ICON Park allowing kids and the young at heart to enjoy the sites from inside a train.

It’s super quick but so cute and it was 100% worth it to see my son’s face! I wouldn’t go to ICON Park specifically for this but it’s a great add-on to make the kids feel included and happy.

7D Dark Ride Adventure

This is a super fun first-person interactive shooting game experience. My husband loved it!

Just like the Pearl Express Train, I wouldn’t go to ICON Park specifically for this but it’s a great add-on for older kids and adults.

Arcade

The $5 included in the Play Pass was just enough for everyone to enjoy multiple games within the time of our toddler not getting bored. It’s a nice-sized room with many arcade games and a mirror maze.

Overall we really loved our time at ICON Park! If you are local or planning a trip to Orlando I would highly recommend adding some time to your schedule to visit ICON Park. I think it is also a much more affordable option than many of the surrounding theme parks and would be great for families who are looking to save some money while still having tons of fun!
